When the School Keeps Calling

She was at Fiesta Mart on Rosedale when the third call came in this month.
She left the cart in the aisle and stepped outside to answer it. Same story as the last two. Her grandson got into it with another kid. They needed her to come in.
She's 61. She didn't expect to be doing this again.
What the calls are telling you
Schools call when something is happening they don't know how to manage on their end. That's not a judgment on the kid. It means the behavior is consistent enough and strong enough that the classroom can't absorb it.
What the school sees is one piece. What's happening at home, in the mornings, on the weekends — that's the rest of the picture. Behavior doesn't live only at school. It shows up everywhere, and the pattern started somewhere.
What doesn't work
Punishing through it. If three weeks of consequences haven't changed the pattern, more consequences won't either.
Waiting for it to level out on its own. September calls that go unaddressed turn into November calls and a much harder conversation at semester.
What actually moves things
Getting someone in who can see the whole picture and work with the child directly on what's driving it.
Texas Care Stop 6 works with families across Fort Worth on exactly this. We come to the home. We work with kids directly. Medicaid accepted. No referral needed.
You don't have to figure this out alone.
